The Isis opened in 1915 as a single-screen movie house, with 360 seats. In 1998, the venerable Isis closed, and the auditorium was demolished. A new building was constructed behind the historic facade and sign. The four-screen theater continues to delight residents and visitors alike, and is home to Aspen Film.
Movieland was the first theater built in Downtown Schenectady in decades.
